Illegal drugs remain one of the most insidious threats to public safety, eroding moral values, dismantling families, and endangering the future of communities. Every gram of shabu and every leaf of marijuana trafficked on the streets represents not only illicit profit, but also irreparable human suffering. Against this menace, the Philippine National Police (PNP) stands resolute, unyielding in its duty to protect the people and uphold the rule of law.
Acting on the directives of Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting PNP Chief, to sustain the campaign against illegal drugs, operatives of the Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) successfully apprehended two drug suspects during a buy-bust operation on August 31, 2025, in Sitio 7, Barangay Mabini, Calauag, Quezon.
The suspects were identified as alias “Atoy,” classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI), and alias “Macmac,” a Street-Level Individual (SLI), both residents of Barangay Calimpak, Guinyangan, Quezon. Seized from their possession were 187 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of Php3,814,800; 250 grams of suspected marijuana worth Php90,000; one Php1,000 bill used as buy-bust money; a black sling bag; and a Rusco multicab. The total value of the confiscated illegal drugs amounted to Php3,904,800.

As of this writing, the arrested individuals are under police custody and are facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Colonel Romulo A. Albacea, Provincial Director of QPPO, commended the professionalism and vigilance of his personnel, reiterating their unwavering stance against illegal drugs. “The Quezon PPO is determined, fearless, and will never waver in its sworn duty to uphold peace and safeguard the welfare of our people,” he said.
This successful operation sends a clear message that while crime may persist, justice will always prevail. The illegal drug trade may continue to lurk, but it shall never overcome the resolve of those who have sworn to protect the Filipino people. PNP remains committed in fulfilling its mandate to fight illegal drugs, not merely as a campaign but as a solemn vow to defend life, preserve peace, and secure the future of generations to come.
