The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported the peaceful and orderly conduct of the monitored faith-based White Ribbon Movement rallies held at the People Power Monument along EDSA and in other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) on Saturday, June 28, 2026.
Based on reports, a total of five faith-based rally activities were monitored across Metro Manila, with an estimated combined attendance of 4,880 participants. These included one activity in the Eastern Police District with around 1,000 participants, one in the Southern Police District with approximately 50 participants, and three in the Quezon City Police District with an estimated 3,830 participants.
Before the rallies, PNP placed all units under Full Alert Status, enabling the organization to maintain maximum operational readiness and respond promptly to any situation that might arise.
Nearly 10,000 PNP personnel were deployed nationwide to conduct patrol operations, provide security assistance, manage crowds, and coordinate with local government units (LGUs) and partner agencies to help keep communities safe. These efforts reflect the PNP’s continuing commitment to protecting the public while supporting initiatives that promote respect, dignity, and communities free from violence.
PNP also maintained a police presence in the affected areas to ensure public safety, manage traffic, and facilitate the peaceful exercise of the participants’ constitutional right to assemble while minimizing disruption to the public. These security measures were implemented in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which emphasizes rights-based policing, public safety, and orderly law enforcement.
During the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on June 29, 2026 at the PNP National Headquarters, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City, PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended all police personnel who ensured the peaceful and orderly conduct of the White Ribbon Movement. He cited their professionalism, discipline, and restraint in safeguarding the public’s right to assemble while maintaining peace and order.
“Maraming salamat sa ating mga kapulisan na naging mahinahon at propesyonal sa pagganap ng kanilang tungkulin. Naging maayos ang kabuuang sitwasyon at walang naging aberya. Ang kaligtasan ng lahat ang lagi nating inuuna, at iyan ang serbisyong nais nating maramdaman ng bawat Pilipino,” he said.
He also reminded the public that the PNP remains committed to protecting constitutional rights while preserving peace and order.
“Patuloy nating igagalang ang karapatan ng bawat Pilipino na ipahayag ang kanilang saloobin sa mapayapang paraan. Kasabay nito, sisiguraduhin din natin na ang batas ay pantay na ipinatutupad at ang kapayapaan ay napapanatili para sa kapakinabangan ng lahat,” he added.
The PNP Top Cop likewise recognized the organization’s sustained operational accomplishments in its campaign against criminality, including the recent arrests of wanted persons, intensified anti-illegal drug operations, successful anti-smuggling efforts, and the joint police operation in Bocaue, Bulacan, which prevented another series of robbery incidents.
Addressing recent incidents involving students in different parts of the country, PGen Nartatez directed all police units to strengthen further coordination with schools, LGUs, parents, and communities. He underscored the need to intensify police visibility, enhance crime prevention efforts, and expand youth engagement programs to help ensure that schools remain safe and secure learning environments.
The PNP Chief concluded his message by reminding all personnel to remain steadfast in serving the Filipino people with integrity, professionalism, and compassion as the organization continues to build a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.
