The Philippine National Police (PNP) formally ushered in the year with its annual New Year’s Call, a long-standing tradition that underscores the organization’s values of unity, discipline, and shared commitment to public service. Deeply rooted in the PNP’s culture and history, the event serves as both a ceremonial and symbolic gathering where officers reaffirm their dedication to duty, their loyalty to PNP leadership, and the organization’s direction under the vision of Bagong Pilipinas.

Held on January 7, 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Center, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City, the activity was graced by Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting PNP Chief, and his wife, Mrs. Mary Rose O. Nartatez, Adviser of the PNP-OLC Foundation Inc. Their presence underscored the PNP’s recognition of the collective role played by both uniformed personnel and their families in advancing its mission.

The event brought together the PNP Command Group, Officers of the Directorial and Personal Staff, Directors of National Support Units and Police Regional Offices, along with their spouses, as well as the Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General of the Internal Affairs Service.

In his address, PLtGen Nartatez outlined his guidance and expectations for the police force, highlighting the PNP Focused Agenda, which emphasizes strengthening operations, boosting personnel morale and welfare, ensuring transparent resource management, and reinforcing integrity monitoring alongside active community engagement.

He also highlighted measurable gains in crime prevention, law enforcement effectiveness, internal discipline, and police–community relations, noting that these achievements stem from the coordinated efforts of PNP units nationwide. According to the Acting PNP Chief, such progress reflects the PNP’s commitment to delivering visible, responsive, and people-centered policing.
The New Year’s Call likewise set the tone for the PNP’s priorities for 2026. These include the swift, impartial, and credible investigation of cases; the sustained full operationalization of the Unified 911 Emergency Response System; and the continued development of infrastructure alongside the enhancement of police capabilities. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining professionalism, strengthening partnerships with stakeholders, and upholding integrity at all levels.
As PNP moves forward, it renewed its commitment to delivering services under the mantra Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman. Through unity of purpose, the police force remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the law, respect human rights, and protect the people it serves.
