The enhanced managing of police operations under the Philippine National Police (PNP) Focused Agenda continues to deliver significant results as authorities recorded another major victory in the intensified campaign against illegal drugs following a successful buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
At around 11:06 PM on January 6, 2026, operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (PPO), serving as lead units, in close coordination with the Tagbilaran City Police Station (CPS), conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City.

The operation led to the arrest of two individuals, one of whom was identified as a high-value individual. Seized during the operation were approximately 10,285.6 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of Php69,942,080, along with marked buy-bust money and other non-drug items.
The arrested suspects and all confiscated evidence were immediately turned over to the Tagbilaran CPS for proper documentation, inventory, and disposition. Appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are currently being prepared against the suspects as of this writing.

Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting PNP Chief, lauded the operating units for the successful operation, emphasizing that it reflects the organization’s sustained, intelligence-driven, and focused approach in combating illegal drugs.
“This operation sends a clear message that the PNP remains firm and relentless in going after those who profit from illegal drugs. Walang puwang sa ating mga komunidad ang ganitong uri ng kriminalidad. Our personnel will continue to work day and night to protect the public and keep our communities safe,” PLtGen Nartatez said.
He further underscored that the results are aligned with the PNP’s commitment to responsive and people-centered policing.
“These results reflect our commitment to deliver services that are fast, honest, and felt by the people. Ito ang Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” he added.
PNP reiterated its call for continued public cooperation, stressing that strong community support remains vital in sustaining the gains of the anti-illegal drugs campaign and other crime-prevention efforts, as the police force works toward the shared vision of a drug-free and safer Philippines.
