A major haul of suspected illegal drugs was recovered by the Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting PNP Chief, along the coastline of San Vicente, Palawan, preventing a large quantity of narcotics from entering the community.

PNP continues to demonstrate firm action against illegal drugs through timely response and sustained police presence, particularly in vulnerable coastal areas often exploited by drug syndicates.

At around 8:22 AM on December 26, 2025, personnel of the San Vicente Municipal Police Station responded to a report regarding suspicious packages discovered along the coastal area of Danlog, Sitio Gawid, Barangay Caruray, San Vicente, Palawan.

The items were found by a group of youth while swimming in the area. Upon verification, authorities recovered 31 vacuum-sealed transparent plastic packs of suspected marijuana kush, weighing approximately 21.97 kilograms, with an estimated standard drug price of Php 26,364,000. The recovered illegal drugs were secured and submitted to the Palawan Forensic Unit for laboratory examination and proper disposition as of this writing.

“This operation shows how vigilance and immediate police response can stop illegal drugs before they reach our communities. Patuloy kikilos ang ating kapulisan upang mapanatili ang kaligtasan ng mamamayan laban sa banta ng illegal drugs,” said PLtGen Nartatez.

As PNP continues to strengthen its campaign against illegal drugs and protect coastal communities, it encourages the active participation of the public in reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities. Community cooperation remains vital in preventing criminal elements from exploiting coastal areas. Through unity, vigilance, and timely reporting, PNP aims to ensure a safer and drug-free Philippines.
