The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6), under the direct supervision of Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, Regional Director of PRO 6, brought hope and comfort to the community of Barangay Poblacion, Sebaste, Antique on July 30, 2025, through the Bayanihan Typhoon Relief Mission—a humanitarian effort that embodied the true spirit of public service and compassion.
Personally leading the mission, PBGen Ligan ensured its smooth conduct, which was made possible through the active involvement of Police Lieutenant Colonel Willy D. Diel, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration of Antique Police Provincial Office (PPO); Police Lieutenant Colonel Ma. Lea D Barrios, Chief of the Public Information and Documentation Management Unit (PIDMU); Police Captain Lynie P. De Los Santos, Assistant Chief of the Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU); and Police Captain Harry Jhun F. Amar, Officer-in-Charge of Sebaste Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Also joining the relief operation were officers and personnel from the 1st and 2nd Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company (APMFC), Sebaste MPS, and members of PCADU. Their joint efforts reflected the strong teamwork and commitment to public service of PNP and its partner units in Western Visayas.
This meaningful activity is part of PRO 6’s “Kasaligan, Kaapin, Kaagapay Mo” campaign (“Your Trusted, Caring, and Dependable Partner”), which aims to bring immediate assistance to families severely affected by Typhoon Crising while also strengthening police-community relations. This initiative was not only to provide emergency assistance but also to deepen its connection with the community.

The relief mission began with a feeding program for over 200 individuals, offering warm meals and nourishment to those who lost their homes and livelihoods due to flooding and landslides.
Following the feeding activity, PBGen Ligan personally led the distribution of food packs and basic supplies to approximately 175 families. His presence and hands-on approach were regarded by locals as a clear testament to his leadership and genuine concern.

The Philippine National Police (PNP), led by Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, PNP Chief, assured the community of its continuous support and recovery efforts, emphasizing its role as a dependable partner especially in times of need. This mission proves that PNP remains committed not only to public safety, but also to the welfare, health, and recovery of the Filipino people—particularly the most vulnerable sector.
Through the “Kasaligan, Kaapin, Kaagapay Mo” program, PRO 6 once again highlights the PNP’s role beyond patrol and enforcement, proving that true public service goes beyond just peacekeeping, but also about being a source of strength for the people, especially in moments of crisis.
