PRO1: “Maaasahan, Malalapitan at Mapagkakatiwalaan”

For Police Brigadier General Dindo R. Reyes, leadership is more than a position, it is a commitment. As the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1), his personal mantra, “Maaasahan, Malalapitan at Mapagkakatiwalaan na Kapulisan,” has become the guiding principle of the entire regional police force. This dedication to reliability, accessibility, and trustworthiness has not only steered PRO1 toward numerous accomplishments but has also fostered stronger partnerships between law enforcement and the community.

In line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to intensify the campaign against criminality and ensure community safety, PRO1 conducted a series of intensified operations from August 26 to September 6, 2025. Within this period, police operatives carried out 56 anti-drug operations that resulted in the confiscation of 602.05 grams of shabu and 60.73 grams of marijuana, as well as the destruction of 10,250 fully grown marijuana plants and 1,000 seedlings with an estimated value of over Php6.1 Million. A total of 67 individuals were arrested in connection with these operations.

Efforts against wanted persons also yielded significant breakthroughs as authorities apprehended 82 individuals, including nine Most Wanted Persons. Meanwhile, the campaign against loose firearms led to 15 separate operations that resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals, the confiscation of 13 firearms, and the recovery of 36 unexploded ordnance (UXOs).

Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), lauded PRO1 for its strong performance, noting that the said accomplishments reflect their determination to combat crime and corruption in the region. “Ang tagumpay ng PRO1 ay patunay ng ating walang sawang paninindigan na sugpuin ang krimen at katiwalian sa ating mga komunidad. Sa pagtutulungan ng kapulisan at mamamayan, makakamtan natin ang isang ligtas at panatag na bayan para sa lahat,” he said.

On September 8, 2025, PRO1 further strengthened its anti-drug campaign with the arrest of a 60-year-old high-value target and his 56-year-old companion during a buy-bust operation in Aguilar, Pangasinan. Seized from the suspects were 65 grams of shabu worth Php442,000. The operation, carried out by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit with the support of regional units, PDEG SOU 1, and Aguilar MPS, was a major blow to illegal drug operations in the area. As of this writing, the arrested individuals are facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PBGen Reyes stressed that every police operation is a meaningful step toward securing safer communities. “Every gram seized, every plant uprooted, and every suspect apprehended represents a step closer to securing the future of our communities. PRO1 will not waver in this campaign,” he said.

PLtGen Nartatez also urged all police units across the country to continue serving with integrity, professionalism, and compassion, underscoring that these values are crucial in building safer and more peaceful communities for every Filipino.
