Public Trust in PNP Leadership Continues to Grow as PGen Nartatez Earns High Governance Rating

Public trust remains one of the most significant indicators of effective leadership in government service. For institutions tasked with maintaining peace and order, public confidence reflects not only the quality of public service but also the organization’s commitment to accountability, professionalism, and responsive governance. As the Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its programs and initiatives to ensure public safety, sustained public confidence affirms its ongoing efforts to fulfill its mandate.

Reflecting this continued public confidence, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, expressed his gratitude to the Filipino people after emerging as the highest-ranked official in the fourth tier among the heads of key government agencies in the latest nationwide “Boses ng Bayan” survey conducted by RPMD Foundation Inc.

The survey, conducted from July 12 to 19, 2026, gathered the opinions of 10,000 respondents nationwide. PGen Nartatez received an Index of Governance (IOG) score of 85.4%, comprising an 85.3% trust rating and an 85.6% job performance rating, placing him at the top of the fourth tier in the nationwide assessment. During his tenure, the PNP has sustained efforts to intensify anti-criminality operations, strengthen internal discipline and accountability mechanisms, enhance police operational capabilities, and foster stronger partnerships with communities and other stakeholders to promote peace and public safety nationwide.

Acknowledging the survey results, PGen Nartatez emphasized that the recognition belongs not only to him but also to every member of the organization who faithfully performs their duties with dedication, integrity, and professionalism. He said the positive public assessment serves as an inspiration for the entire police force to remain committed to delivering honest, responsive, and people-centered police service.

He added that while the recognition is encouraging, the Nation’s Peacekeepers remain focused on delivering concrete results through effective law enforcement, stronger community partnerships, and responsive public service. He stressed that the police force will continue to build on these gains by ensuring that every police officer upholds the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and excellence in serving the Filipino people.
