The Philippine National Police (PNP), led by Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr., Chief, PNP, recognized civilian informants whose valuable information led to the successful arrest of 21 wanted persons facing various criminal charges during the Handover of Monetary Reward Ceremony held on July 21, 2026, at the Bulwagang Lapulapu, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City.
The PNP awarded a total of Php9,275,000 in monetary rewards to civilian informants in recognition of their indispensable contribution to law enforcement efforts. Joining the PNP Chief in honoring the awardees were Police Lieutenant General Bernard M. Banac, Deputy Chief PNP for Administration; Police Major General Wilson Joseph F. Lopez, Officer-in-Charge, Deputy Chief PNP for Operations; Police Brigadier General Arnold P. Pardiente, Acting Director for Intelligence; and other senior PNP officials. The recognition underscored the courage, vigilance, and civic responsibility demonstrated by the civilian informants in supporting police operations.
The 21 arrested fugitives were wanted for various offenses, including murder, frustrated murder, attempted murder, robbery, robbery with multiple homicide, grave coercion, theft, kidnapping with murder, kidnapping and serious illegal detention for ransom, large-scale swindling, syndicated estafa, arson, rape, statutory rape, acts of lasciviousness, sexual assault, rape by carnal knowledge, violations of Republic Act No. 7610, violations of Republic Act No. 8353 in relation to Republic Act No. 7610, violations of Republic Act No. 9516, and violations of Republic Act No. 10591.
Their successful apprehension highlights the vital role of timely, accurate, and credible information provided by responsible citizens in aiding police operations. The arrests not only brought fugitives before the bar of justice but also reinforced the importance of active public participation in maintaining peace and order and fostering safer and more secure communities.
