As a country shaped by a rich tapestry of history, traditions, and diverse cultural influences, the Philippine National Police (PNP), through the Historical and Cultural Affairs Division (HCAD) of the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG), reinforces its commitment to preserving the nation’s historical identity with the unveiling of the new PNP Museum logo and the ceremonial blessing of the newly renovated PNP Museum with Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, PNP Chief, as the Presiding Officer, on May 30, 2025 at Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City.
The event commenced with the dedication of the new PNP Museum logo with Mrs. Mary Rose P. Marbil, Adviser of the PNP-OLC Foundation Inc., together with the PNP Command Group, members of the Directorial Staff, officers of the PNP-OLCFI, Directors of National Support Units (NSUs), awardees, selection board members, board of judges of the “Tatak ng Pamana ng Pambansang Pulisya ng Pilipinas” Logo-Making Contest, as well as representatives from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, the Quezon City Tourism Department, and other stakeholders who came to witness this historic unveiling.

The new logo represents more than just a design; it is a tribute to the courage, heroism, and service of the men and women in uniform. It incorporates historical and symbolic elements that reflect the core values of patriotism, integrity, and service to the Filipino people. It is dedicated to those who have sacrificed and continue to risk their lives in the line of duty.
In conjunction with the unveiling, the newly renovated PNP Museum was formally blessed by Police Colonel Julius B. Cruz, Deputy Director of the PNP Chaplain Service. The renovation enhanced the exhibit arrangement and updated curatorial practices, offering a more compelling narrative of the PNP’s institutional evolution, from its early roots to its present-day operations. These improvements aim to transform the museum into a modern learning space that honors the past while embracing contemporary methods of storytelling and preservation.

The program continued with the awarding of winners from the “Tatak ng Pamana ng Pambansang Pulisya ng Pilipinas” Logo-Making Contest, which drew impressive entries from talented PNP uniformed and non-uniformed personnel nationwide. Police Senior Master Sergeant Jan Frederick Grafane of PRO6 emerged as the first-place winner and was conferred the Medalya ng Kasanayan. Police Staff Sergeant Sterl Jason B. Inot from PRO7 secured second place, while Police Chief Master Sergeant Rommel G. Melendrez of the Forensic Group took the third place. Both were awarded the Medalya ng Papuri in recognition of their creative contributions. The winning entry, now proudly displayed throughout the museum, stands as the new symbol of the organization’s evolving identity and enduring commitment to honoring the valor, service, and sacrifices of the police force.
Meanwhile, the PNP Chief presented a donation to the museum, a 1911 Caliber .45 pistol with Serial Number CPNP O-00826 as an additional artifact to be displayed. It was received by Police Brigadier General Marvin Joe C. Saro, Director of PCADG, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Veronica P. Peñalosa, Chief of HCAD, PCADG.

In his message, PGen Marbil lauded the collaborative efforts that brought the project to fruition. He emphasized the importance of preserving memories and honoring the contributions of every PNP personnel to the nation’s history and culture. He also encouraged both members of the police force and the public to visit the museum to gain a deeper understanding of the PNP’s role in safeguarding the nation.
With a renewed look and a revitalized mission, the PNP Museum now stands as a beacon of heritage, learning, and institutional pride. It is poised to serve as a bridge between the past and present, one that will inspire future generations to appreciate the legacy of the Philippine National Police, uphold the values of service and integrity, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
