Araw ng Pasasalamat: Honoring Partnerships for the Health and Well-Being of the PNP Family

Behind every effective healthcare program is a network of people and institutions working together to make quality and accessible services possible. For an organization whose personnel perform demanding duties in the service of the Filipino people, ensuring their health and well-being requires more than one office or institution. It calls for sustained cooperation, shared commitment, and meaningful partnerships.

Recognizing these contributions is therefore more than an expression of gratitude. It strengthens the relationships that help ensure police personnel and their families receive the healthcare support they need. Through collaboration with government agencies, private institutions, healthcare organizations, and other stakeholders, the police organization continues to expand its capacity to provide responsive healthcare programs to its personnel.

In recognition of these valuable partnerships, the Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, through the PNP Health Service, held the “Araw ng Pasasalamat” on September 25, 2026, at Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City, with the theme “Bayanihan sa Kalusugan, Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

Representing the Acting Secretary of the Department of Health, Dr. Edwin M. Mercado, Department of Health Undersecretary Dr. Gloria J. Balboa graced the event as Guest of Honor and Speaker. The gathering honored government agencies, private institutions, healthcare organizations, and other partners whose support has helped implement and strengthen the PNP Health Service’s various programs and initiatives.

The Araw ng Pasasalamat highlighted the value of partnerships as an essential component of a responsive healthcare system. It also reminded everyone that meaningful partnerships are built not only through assistance but also through trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to public service. The contributions of partner institutions provide opportunities for the PNP Health Service, headed by its Director, Police Brigadier General Portia B. Manalad, to enhance its programs, broaden access to healthcare support, and respond more effectively to the needs of the PNP community.

Anchored on the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly the Morale and Welfare Pillar, the activity reflects the organization’s continuing efforts to strengthen programs that promote the welfare of its personnel and their families. By nurturing partnerships and recognizing the valuable contributions of its stakeholders, the PNP reinforces a shared commitment to ensuring that those who serve the nation are likewise supported in their health and well-being.
