NCRPO’s Barangay-Level Crackdown: Php18.5M Worth of Drugs Seized, 603 Suspects Arrested

In line with the directive of Police General Nicolas D Torre III, then Chief, PNP, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), under the leadership of Regional Director Police Major General Anthony A. Aberin, intensifies the fight against illegal drugs by strengthening efforts at the barangay level—where communities are closest, vigilance is sharpest, and interventions are most effective.

In his message, PGen Torre emphasized: “Every barangay is a frontline post in our battle against illegal drugs. BADACs are not just administrative bodies they are the sentinels of their communities. We count on them to lead both in preventing the spread of illegal drugs and in giving hope to those willing to turn their lives around.”

This pronouncement reinforces the PNP’s swift and responsive public service, where the recalibrated national anti-drug strategy integrates intensified law enforcement with community-based rehabilitation. The goal is not only to neutralize drug sources but also to provide genuine opportunities for recovery and change.

From August 1 to 15, 2025, NCRPO conducted 429 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 603 individuals. These operations led to the confiscation of 2,697.02 grams of shabu, 230.66 grams of marijuana dried leaves, and 54.3 grams of kush, with a combined estimated value of Php18,448,865.20 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) standard price.

PNP remains fully committed to ensure that every barangay across the country becomes a fortress of safety, dignity, and hope. The fight against illegal drugs is not measured solely by arrest or seizures but by safer streets, restored public trust, and lives reclaimed from addiction. This is why the campaign against illegal drugs goes beyond enforcement, it is a promise of stronger families and brighter future for every Filipino.
