DILG Launches Unified 911
For years, government authorities relied on their respective hotlines to respond in various emergency situations. Different offices across the country operated using different contact numbers with varied emergency hotline from town to town, depending on their respective Local Government Units (LGUs). These fragmented hotlines repeatedly caused confusion and delays as the callers were unsure whom to reach and what to call.
To address this long-overdue issue, on September 11, 2025, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), led by Secretary Jonvic Remulla, launched the country’s Unified 911, a single hotline that replaces more than 30 local emergency numbers nationwide. Such reform aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen family and community safety under the Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance. The launching ceremony was held at PLDT Sampaloc in the City of Manila.

With the institutionalization of Unified 911, every emergency call received from any part of the country, whether for police, fire, medical, or disaster response, will now be routed through a single, integrated network linking the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and local governments.
This service is free, available 24/7, and language-sensitive, designed to understand and respond to calls in Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilocano, Waray, Tausug and other Philippine languages. It is primarily operated by trained call takers ready to calm and assist callers in crisis with a target response time of five minutes.

“Unified 911 should not just be a hotline. It is a lifeline. Every second matters, every call matters, every life matters. This is government fulfilling its promise that help will always be within reach,” said DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting Chief, PNP, also joined SILG Remulla in the launching ceremony, together with other senior government officials from BJMP and BFP.

The Unified 911 roll out reinforces the government’s capabilities in ensuring public safety, strengthening its mechanisms in delivering timely and immediate assistance. Callers now only need to dial one hotline—the Unified 911, committed on one promise: when danger strikes, help will come.
