Over Php497 Million Worth of Suspected Shabu Recovered in NAIA, Bacolod; Three Arrested

On October 5, 2026, the Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, intercepted an inbound parcel containing more or less 73.002 kilograms of suspected shabu at the Express Cargo Clearance Facility of the PAIR-PAGS Center, NAIA Complex, Pasay City.

Personnel of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group’s Intelligence and Foreign Liaison Division and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group conducted the operation, resulting in the recovery of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of Php496.413 Million. The parcel was subsequently turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Laboratory Service for qualitative and quantitative examination.

The shipper was identified as a foreign national from Mexico, while the listed consignee is a Filipino. As of this writing, their identities are being withheld as the case undergoes the appropriate legal proceedings.

In a separate operation in Bacolod City later that day, police personnel arrested three adults in a buy-bust operation in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2. The operation resulted in the recovery of more or less 230 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately Php1.564 Million. The suspects are currently under police custody for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges.

The PNP Chief said the two operations highlight the importance of timely information, careful verification, and close coordination among police units and partner agencies in addressing the movement of illegal drugs.

“We will continue to work on the points where these illegal drugs move, whether at entry facilities or within communities. The approach is simple: verify the information, coordinate properly, and act within the law,” he said.

The operations form part of the PNP’s Focused Agenda, particularly its Enhanced Managing Police Operations. The Nation’s Peacekeepers will continue to coordinate with concerned agencies to disrupt the movement of illegal drugs while ensuring that all operations are conducted within the bounds of the law, consistent with the organization’s commitment to a “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
