PNP’s Unyielding Drive: Over Php14.9 Million Worth of Illegal Drugs and Contraband Seized Nationwide

With a steadfast pursuit of justice and public safety, the Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to carry out President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive against criminality, illegal drugs, and smuggling through decisive on-the-ground operations.

From October 14 to 15, 2025, the PNP’s nationwide operations resulted in the seizure of over Php14.9 Million worth of illegal drugs and smuggled goods, as well as the arrest of several wanted fugitives.

Among those apprehended were individuals listed as Top Most Wanted Persons in their respective regions, facing charges for heinous crimes such as rape, murder, attempted murder, acts of lasciviousness, and violations of Republic Act No. 7610 (Anti-Child Abuse Law). Notably, a Korean national wanted for Serious Illegal Detention was captured in Cebu City through the swift coordination of police units.

Meanwhile, intensified anti-illegal drug operations conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) yielded significant results, including the seizure of shabu and marijuana valued at over Php7.1 Million and the arrest of ten suspects in separate operations across the country.

In Kalinga, eradication operations jointly conducted by PNP and PDEA Cordillera in Barangays Loccong and Dananao, Tinglayan, led to the destruction of 6,500 fully grown marijuana plants worth Php1,300,000.00 and another 7,000 plants worth Php1,400,000.00, respectively.

In Laguna, a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Antonio 1, San Pablo City, resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of approximately 200 grams of shabu worth Php1,360,000.00, along with a .45 caliber pistol, two magazines, and ten live rounds of ammunition.

In Cavite, a buy-bust operation in Barangay Salitran 4, Dasmariñas City, led to the arrest of three suspects and the confiscation of 200 grams of shabu worth Php1,360,000.00.

In Rizal, Oplan Sita operations in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taytay, resulted in the apprehension of two suspects found in possession of three sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 80 grams, valued at Php544,000.00.

In Cagayan de Oro City, a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Lazaro, Agora, led to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of 110 grams of shabu worth Php748,000.00 and 80 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth Php9,600.00.

In Bacolod City, a buy-bust operation at Barangay Handumanan led to the arrest of one suspect and the confiscation of 60 grams of shabu valued at Php408,000.00.

All confiscated drug evidence has been turned over to the respective Regional Forensic Units for laboratory examination, while the arrested individuals remain in police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges as of this writing.

In the continued fight against smuggling, PNP, in coordination with the Bureau of Customs, intercepted a major shipment of illicit cigarettes along the coastal area of Barangay Kraan, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat. The confiscated items included 177 boxes and 50 reams of F2 cigarettes, 19 boxes of Tabaco cigarettes, 62 reams of Hero cigarettes, and 50 reams of Canon cigarettes, with a total market value of Php7,828,139.60. The seized contraband was brought to the Palimbang Municipal Police Station for documentation and will be turned over to the Bureau of Customs Sub-Port in General Santos City for proper disposition.

Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting PNP Chief, commended the units involved, underscoring that these accomplishments reflect the PNP’s intensified drive toward a more professional and service-oriented police organization.

“These arrests and seizures are not merely statistics—they represent our collective resolve to safeguard Filipino homes and communities. Every operation stands as proof of our vigilance, courage, and steadfast duty to ensure that justice prevails,” said PLtGen Nartatez.
