“Strengthening Another Pillar of the PNP Focused Agenda”

Health remains a cornerstone of the law enforcement profession. Police officers face daily challenges that test their physical endurance, mental strength, and emotional stability. The ability to respond swiftly, think clearly under pressure, and maintain discipline in the face of danger is rooted in an officer’s overall health. As such, ensuring their well-being is essential not only for their personal welfare but also for the effectiveness and reliability of the entire police organization.

In line with this commitment, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Health Service (HS), led by its Director, Police Brigadier General Portia B. Manalad, spearheaded a comprehensive Medical Outreach Program on April 25, 2026, at the Bulwagang Lapulapu, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City. The activity was made possible through partnerships with Cardinal Santos Medical Center and Tzu Chi Eye Center, in collaboration with the PNP-OLC Foundation Inc. (PNP-OLCFI), reflecting a unified effort to bring quality healthcare services closer to the police community.

The event was graced by PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., together with the PNP Command Group, Mrs. Mary Rose O. Nartatez, National Adviser of PNP-OLCFI, members of the foundation, and other key PNP officials, signifying strong institutional support for initiatives centered on personnel welfare.

The outreach program provided free medical services to PNP personnel, their dependents, and retirees. These included consultations in cardiology, orthopedics, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine, and ophthalmology. Beneficiaries also received eye screenings and other essential healthcare services, ensuring a comprehensive and accessible approach to medical care.

Beyond delivering medical assistance, the initiative aims to expand access to quality and timely healthcare, promote early detection and prevention of illnesses, and enhance the overall well-being of PNP personnel and their families. By bringing medical services directly to its ranks, PNP ensures that those who serve the nation receive the care they rightfully deserve.

More importantly, the program highlights the continuing collaboration between the PNP and its partner institutions in delivering compassionate and people-centered service. Anchored on the PNP’s Focused Agenda on the morale and welfare of personnel, it reinforces the understanding that a healthy police force is vital to maintaining operational readiness and is fundamental to achieving a safer and more secure nation.

Through sustained efforts like this, PNP reaffirms its commitment not only to public safety but also to the holistic well-being of its personnel, ensuring that every police officer remains physically fit, mentally resilient, and fully prepared to uphold their duty to serve and protect.
