Nearly Php350M of Alleged Counterfeit Footwear Seized in Pampanga

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., through the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) headed by its Director, Police Major General Robert A. Morico II, seized nearly Php350 Million worth of alleged counterfeit footwear and production equipment during the implementation of two search warrants in separate warehouses located at the Golden Haojia Industrial Compound, Barangay Balucuc, Apalit, Pampanga, on February 26, 2026.

Operatives of the CIDG Pampanga Provincial Field Unit, under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Marlon M. Cudal, in coordination with local police units, company representatives, and barangay officials, served two search warrants for violations of Republic Act No. 8293, or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.

In the first operation conducted in the morning, authorities raided a warehouse in Barangay Balucuc and seized 181 boxes of alleged counterfeit footwear, 30 sacks of resin raw materials, four heavy machines, and assorted production equipment, with an estimated value of Php216,305,000.

In the afternoon, a second warehouse within the same compound was searched, resulting in the confiscation of 1,481 boxes of alleged trademark-infringing footwear valued at Php133,290,000. The individual linked to the warehouses was not present during the operations. Both implementations of the search warrants were witnessed by barangay officials.

Police General Nartatez emphasized the PNP’s firm stance against intellectual property violations, stating: “Hindi natin papayagan ang ganitong uri ng iligal na operasyon. Counterfeiting harms legitimate businesses, deceives consumers, and undermines fair competition. We will continue to run after those who profit from violating the law.”

He added that the operation forms part of the PNP’s Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens efforts against economic sabotage and other unlawful activities.

“The protection of intellectual property is about safeguarding jobs, investments, and public trust. Tuloy-tuloy ang ating aksyon. This is the kind of service we owe our people—Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” PGen Nartatez concluded.
