PNP Chief Marbil Extends Aid to Typhoon-Affected PRO3 Personnel

As the Philippines rebounds from the devastating impact of Typhoon Carina, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has stepped forward to lead relief efforts for affected PNP personnel in Central Luzon. The PNP Top Cop personally supervised the distribution of aid to the Macabebe and Masantol Police Stations in Pampanga, showing his commitment to the welfare of his personnel.

The distribution included essential resources to take care of the basic needs of the affected workers: 32 beneficiaries from the Bataan PPO, Bulacan PPO, Pampanga PPO, Zambales PPO, and the provincial headquarters, each receiving PHP 10,000 cash assistance. The financial assistance is aimed at helping them rebuild their lives and meet emergency needs.

Recognizing the importance of health, Regional Medical Unit 3 complemented the support by providing basic medical supplies. These included painkillers, antibiotics and vitamins to ensure that affected workers have the necessary vaccines to protect their health during this difficult time. PGen Marbil’s personal involvement in relief work underscores its dedication to responsibility and empathy for its colleagues.

By leading from the front, he modeled leadership that placed the welfare of his subordinates first, his actions not only provided immediate relief to PNP personnel but also boosted their morale.

“This sign of our PNP Chief, PGen Marbil sends a message to everyone, especially to PNP members, that everyone matters and that PNP as a family cares and values everyone,” PRO3 Regional Director PBGen Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said. His story on family ties within PNP underscore the organization’s commitment to taking care of its members.

The relief efforts in Central Luzon are part of the broader PNP’s efforts to assist areas affected by natural disasters. Such measures are necessary to ensure that law enforcement officials, who are often the first responders in times of crisis, have the support first their needs to properly carry out their duties. As they say, “charity begins at home”. This comprehensive plan ensures that affected personnel are adequately supported in various aspects of the recovery process.

As recovery efforts continue, the roles of PGen Marbil and PNP are a reminder of the importance and relevance of leadership, unity and compassion. The PNP’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel exemplifies the values of service and dedication that are central to the mission of the organization.
