PNP Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Indoor Firing Range

Empowering the police force begins from within. This is the clear direction of Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), as he advances his three key pillars of leadership framework, one of which emphasizes unity and morale within the ranks.

In his assumption speech, PGen Torre underscored the importance of strengthening the organization’s core through discipline, mutual respect, and leadership by example. “To our men and women in uniform, we expect the best from you in protecting others. With this expectation, we will also give you the best,” he said, highlighting the PNP’s commitment to provide the finest training, leadership, and support.

As a concrete move to realize this vision, PNP formally opened its new Indoor Firing Range on July 4, 2025, at the PNP Firing Range in Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City. The event was led by Chief, PNP himself, together with the PNP Command Group and key personnel from various police units. This facility aims to advance the firearms training of PNP personnel, providing a safer and more controlled environment where operational readiness can be honed with precision.

Outfitted with state-of-the-art features and strict safety systems, the Indoor Firing Range reflects PNP’s sustained commitment to enhancing the capabilities of its officers. It is designed not only for technical skill enhancement but also for fostering critical qualities such as discipline, accuracy, and sound tactical decision-making. As threats to public safety continue to evolve, such investments in training infrastructure are vital in building a more responsive and capable police force.

The facility also offers a long-term opportunity for police personnel to grow in their profession. For police officers, firearms proficiency is not merely a requirement, it is a responsibility that demands continuous practice, mastery, and mindfulness. With this facility now operational, PNP personnel are encouraged to maximize its potential, embracing every training session as a step toward becoming more competent, confident, and mission-ready public servants.

The opening of the Indoor Firing Range stands as a landmark in PNP’s drive to uplift its members and, in turn, better serve the Filipino people. It sends a clear message: those who are expected to give their all in the name of peace and order will be equipped with nothing less than the best.
