PNP Receives Additional Patrol Vehicles from AFPSLAI to Boost Operational Readiness

The Philippine National Police (PNP) formally received additional mobility assets through the signing of the Deed of Donation with Acceptance and Turnover of Donation from the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loan Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI) on May 12, 2026, held at the PNP National Headquarters, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City.

The activity was graced by AFPSLAI President and Chief Executive Officer Rear Admiral Nichols A. Driz (Ret.), together with PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.; Police Major General Martin Defensor Jr., Director for Logistics; and other PNP officials and personnel.

AFPSLAI, a private, non-stock, and non-profit savings and loan association established in 1972 and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, continues to serve members of the PNP, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and their civilian employees. Supervised by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the institution aims to promote industry, frugality, and savings among its members while supporting initiatives that contribute to public service and national security.

As part of the donation, four units of Toyota Hilux patrol vehicles were formally turned over to Police Regional Office 2 and will be utilized by the Reina Mercedes Police Station, Tumauini Police Station, and the 201st and 202nd Maneuver Companies of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2.

The newly donated patrol vehicles are expected to significantly enhance the mobility, operational efficiency, and response capabilities of police personnel on the ground, particularly in maintaining peace and order, conducting patrol operations, and ensuring faster response to incidents within their respective areas of responsibility.

The ceremonial turnover reflects AFPSLAI’s continuing commitment to supporting uniformed personnel not only through financial services but also through initiatives that directly contribute to public safety and community security.

The PNP expressed gratitude to AFPSLAI for its continued support to the organization’s modernization and operational enhancement programs, underscoring its vital role in empowering police units to deliver more responsive, efficient, and people-centered public service, in line with the vision of a “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
