Advancing Personnel Welfare: PNP Joins LAB for ALL

The Philippine National Police (PNP), led by PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., continues to strengthen its commitment to the welfare of its personnel by supporting programs that prioritize health, well-being, and access to essential services. Recognizing that effective public service begins with a healthy, supported workforce, the organization remains steadfast in partnering with national initiatives that directly benefit its personnel and their families.

Among these is the LAB for ALL Project (Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot para sa Lahat), launched in May 2023, a flagship healthcare initiative led by First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos. Designed to bridge gaps in healthcare access, the program delivers free medical services to communities across the country, including government frontliners such as PNP personnel and their dependents.

Ahead of the main event, pre-activity services were conducted from April 28 to 30, 2026, at Bulwagang Lapulapu, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City. These included free laboratory tests and initial medical consultations, benefiting hundreds of police personnel and their families. The activity enabled the early detection of potential health concerns and encouraged proactive healthcare among participants.

This was followed by the main program held on May 5 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center, led by the First Lady herself. The event brought together PNP officials and personnel, as well as partner organizations such as the PNP OLC Foundation, Inc., led by National Adviser Mrs. Mary Rose Nartatez, reflecting a unified effort to uplift the well-being of the police force.

Also present during the event were key government officials, including Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla, Department of Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, Department of Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary for e-Government David Almirol Jr., Commission on Higher Education Chairperson Shirley Agrupis, Public Attorney’s Office Chairperson Persida Rueda-Acosta, TESDA Director General Francisco Benitez, and Marikina Mayor Francis Zamora, along with other representatives from national agencies and local government units (LGUs).

Through the LAB for ALL Project, more than 2,000 police personnel and their families were provided with free medical and essential government services. Around 20 partner agencies from both the public and private sectors contributed to the initiative, delivering services such as medical consultations, dental care, eye examinations, ECG, urinalysis, HIV testing, chest X-rays, ultrasound procedures, and free medicines.

Beyond healthcare, the program also provided legal assistance, skills training, business mentorship, free seedlings, and access to frontline government services. This integrated approach ensured that beneficiaries received support not only for their health needs but also for their livelihood and legal concerns.

In her message, the First Lady emphasized the importance of caring for those who serve on the frontlines, noting that the initiative was intended not only for communities but also for the men and women who protect the nation. She underscored that the program represents a simple yet meaningful way of giving back to those who dedicate their lives to public safety.

Meanwhile, Police General Nartatez expressed his gratitude for the initiative, highlighting its significant impact on both PNP personnel and their families. He emphasized that programs like this are essential in sustaining the readiness and well-being of police officers while also recognizing the vital role of their families in strengthening the foundation of effective public service.

The LAB for ALL Project stands as a strong example of collaborative governance, bringing together national agencies, LGUs, and private partners to deliver inclusive and responsive services. For the PNP, participation in such initiatives reinforces its vision of a “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

Through sustained partnerships and innovative programs, these efforts strengthen institutional responsiveness, promote personnel welfare, and enhance service efficiency—key pillars of the PNP’s ongoing transformation to provide compassionate and high-quality service to the Filipino people.
